Running PRs times dos.

I’m going to ramble first, so either bare with me or skip to the bold at the bottom.

This summer was a summer of suck in many ways.  But, especially in running.  I don’t think I ran faster than a 12’45” pace on any of my half training runs.  My half marathon pace was over 13’25” and I was so down on myself because I was regressing.  I didn’t think I was ever going to improve.

In fact, I never wanted to run another half marathon again.  Until a few months after, I asked Jess if she wanted to do a half in March that was by her school (which you all know about).  And I was scurredddd all over again because training for half marathon #1 made me pretty much hate myself.

Wahh wahh, so I’ve been training for three weeks now and it is a BAZILLIONNNN TIMES better than this summer.  My half marathon goal is to shave 20-25 minutes off my first time.

ANYWAYS!  I PR’D MY 5K TIME (I think my last real 5K PR was 34:20) TODAY AND MY ONE MILE TIME!  I think at one point last winter, I ran a faster mile, but I say it doesn’t count anymore after a year of suck.

I think the key to my success during the first mile was full on lip syncing to this song.  And also, this song because it seriously never gets old and brings me sooooo many good memories.  “There’s this song.  About home.  And not wanting to go there.  Google it!” — thejaayyboojourneys
